VOM Radio Urges Christians to Pray as Brunson Trial Begins

By Julianna Keck

April 13, 2018

On Monday, April 16, American Pastor Andrew Brunson will enter a Turkish courtroom to be tried on charges of espionage and terrorism. A guilty verdict could carry a 35-year prison sentence. His only “crime” is that for 23 years he and his wife, Norine, have been sharing the gospel with the people of Turkey. This weekend—APRIL 14 & 15—on VOM Radio, Host Todd Nettleton interviews Brunson’s daughter, Jacqueline. In this timely dialogue, Jacqueline shares about her dad’s arrest and how he’s doing while he awaits the opening of the trial. While Pastor Brunson is originally from North Carolina, Jacqueline and her siblings were raised in Turkey and consider it home. Listeners will be transported to this transcontinental country in Eurasia as Jacqueline recounts her parent’s ... Read More

By Jessie Jolliff

May 26, 2017

The Voice of the Martyrs shared an urgent plea for prayer this morning as they reported on an armed attack that took the lives of 27 Christians early Friday, May 26, 2017 in Egypt. Here is more from the local VOM workers report, “The bus was on its way to visit a monastery, when it was stopped by 10 armed men. They boarded the bus and asked passengers for their religion. When the attackers learned they were Christians they opened fire. Children were among the about 50 Christians on board. Many of the injuries are severe, and more martyrs are expected before the end of the day as people succumb to their injuries. Please lift up the victims, their families and the nation of Egypt ...
