"Your Teen's Selfishness" and a Mom's Response

Parenting Today’s Teens is a radio ministry that meets families right where they’re at, in the toughest years of their lives. Raising teenagers is no cake-walk, especially in this climate of culturally-accepted hyper-selfishness.

Mark Gregston’s expert parenting advice has never been more needed, and many families have found their way back to a peaceful home life through Mark’s practical guidance. The ripple effect of Mark’s passion for helping parents and teens is too vast to be measured, but we get a small glimpse of where it’s going, and who has been changed, when we hear from listeners.

Mitzi is a single mom who was heartily moved by the article, “Your Teen’s Selfishness,” from Mark’s blog. To read it, click here.

Mitzi wrote this message to Mark:

Mark, I was so encouraged by your recent article … As a single parent of an 18 year old son, sometimes (most of the time), I feel so inadequate and off track. But after reading your article, I find I might be doing better than I thought … At this point, he has a part time job, is going to community college and is a member of the praise and worship team at church which keeps him pretty busy.

When I read of the problems that many other young people are going through, I’m so saddened but thankful for God’s faithfulness to this single mom and her son. Thanks so much for your ministry!!

P.S. My wayward nephew lived with us for a year and a half until a year ago … got saved but was distracted by drugs and alcohol again and is now in jail with a possible upcoming 5-year sentence. I pray for your ministry to help prevent this from happening to other young people!

Psalm 9:9 “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.”

We’re praying right alongside you, Mitzi!

Your story reveals the very issues that Mark’s ministry is up against and gives hope to other parents who are just like you. The end goal is to help parents and teens learn to love each other and flourish in their relationships instead of reaching for destructive choices with diminishing returns.

Mark is available for live or pre-recorded interviews and also would love to speak at your next station event. Connect Mark with the moms and dads in your neighborhood. Call us today!
